I want Jesus more than candy

Thus begins Holy Week, and though there is not much pomp and circumstance in Gabs regarding Easter, I am becoming more and more aware of how this season is more than a holiday with candy (don’t get me wrong I love a good Cadbury cream egg and those lovely mini eggs… and since they are nowhere to be found in this part of the world, eat some on my behalf, I beseech you!). But I digress…

Jesus’ life, death and resurrection means more to me than ever before. And what really amazes me? That His fulfillment of the Scriptures some 2000 years ago is still as applicable and effective as it was then. God is God throughout the ages!

On Jesus’ entry to Jerusalem it was the people’s cry: save us! …And He did, though not as they expected: “God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us (Romans 5:8).” And there is power and strength in that kind of love.
