rolling an elephant uphill

I was laughing with my roommate last night. We were discussing favourite sayings that aptly describe life sometimes, namely the work we are doing. Hers was very appropriate for the culture in Botswana:

“it’s like rolling an elephant uphill”.

My favourite?  “it’s like rearranging the deck chairs on the titanic”.

It might feel futile, and it might seem like things are never going to actually happen, but we press on, all to the glory of God.
